School Description

Provided by Queens University Of Charlotte
Queens University of Charlotte is a private, co-ed, masters level university with a commitment to liberal arts and professional studies. Located in the heart of historic Charlotte, Queens serves approximately 2,300 undergraduate and graduate students through its College of Arts and Sciences, the McColl School of Business, Presbyterian School of Nursing, Wayland H. Cato Jr. School of Education, School of Communication and Hayworth College for adult and evening programs. It was founded in 1857 as a liberal arts college for women.

Since our founding in 1857 we have grown from an all-women’s college into a master’s level university. The Queens of today is a thriving co-educational institution, boasting five N.C. Professors of the Year, 16 NCAA Division II men’s and women’s sports teams, and exemplary international study and internship programs that have been named among the best in the country.

Queens University of Charlotte provides educational experiences that transform students’ lives and foster personal and professional success.

The Queens University of Charlotte campus is less than three miles away from Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. Charlotte is located in Mecklenburg County and is one of the fastest growing business and arts communities in the nation, a thriving metropolitan center known for outdoor recreation, quality of life and a vibrant business community. The city lies just two hours from the Blue Ridge mountains and four hours from the beaches, three and a half hours from Atlanta, nine hours from Tampa, 24 hours from Fargo... well, you get the idea.

As a Queens student, you can take advantage of as little or as much of the Charlotte scene as you wish. That's the beauty of it. It's not just recreation, either. Our core program, internship program, and student development programs take students out of the classroom and introduce them to real-world opportunities in the Charlotte community. It's the ultimate lab course.

What does the real world mean to you? Come to Queens University of Charlotte and learn for yourself.
