School Description
Provided by University Of Colorado- Boulder
As the flagship university of the state of Colorado, CU-Boulder is a dynamic community of scholars and learners situated on one of the most spectacular college campuses in the country. As one of 34 U.S. public institutions belonging to the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU) – and the only member in the Rocky Mountain region – we have a proud tradition of academic excellence, with four Nobel laureates and more than 50 members of prestigious academic academies.
At CU-Boulder, we recognize the exceptional opportunities associated with our role as a research university, and we value the unique strength and character research achievements bring to undergraduate education. We are keenly aware of our responsibility for educating the next generation of citizens and leaders, and for fostering the spirit of discovery through research. Indeed, we believe that our students, both graduate and undergraduate, benefit from the comprehensive mix of programs and research excellence that characterize a flagship university. Thus, we believe CU-Boulder's statutory mission is relevant today and will remain relevant tomorrow.
Our Mission:
"The Boulder campus of the university of Colorado shall be a comprehensive graduate research university with selective admissions standards. The Boulder campus of the university of Colorado shall offer a comprehensive array of undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degree programs.
CU-Boulder offers a variety of ways for students to find their place on campus, including on and off-campus housing programs and hundreds of student-sponsored organizations, major-specific clubs, honor societies, ethnic clubs, recreational activities, and Greek societies. Funded through our Student Organizations Finance Office, these clubs and organizations provide opportunities for students to make friends and pursue their interests-from hiking to honors, music to martial arts, swing dancing to snowboarding. There is always something to do on campus, so get out there and get involved!
